FAQs
Your questions answered
What are ceramic implants?
Ceramic dental implants are a type of dental restoration that are used to replace missing or damaged teeth. They are placed into the jawbone using a surgical procedure. A custom-made crown is then attached to the implant to complete the restoration.
Do they hurt?
Thanks to the medical support you’ll get from our team, you should experience only minimal discomfort during and after the fitting procedure.
Can anyone have ceramic implants?
Most people who have experienced tooth loss are suitable candidates for ceramic implants. The biocompatibility of these implants means they’re even suitable for patients with metal allergies, unlike traditional dental implants.
Will I need a bone graft beforehand?
Until we examine your mouth, we won’t know the level of preparation you’ll need. But the good news is that we offer implant options for patients who have been told in the past that they have insufficient bone. We have the expertise to perform sinus lifts and innovative bone augmentation procedures to strength jawbones that have atrophied due to a prolonged period of tooth loss.
What are the advantages of ceramic implants over titanium implants?
Ceramic implants don’t contain any metal which means they’re body-friendly and less likely to cause an allergic reaction or gum irritation. They’re also naturally white, with no grey margins and so more aesthetically pleasing. They can provide a more natural-looking smile.
Will I ever need to get my ceramic implants replaced?
Ceramic implants are designed to last a lifetime. With proper care, these implants should be the only set of replacement teeth you’ll ever need.
